Earlier this year, Google announced that Smart Shopping and Local campaigns would be upgraded to Performance Max campaigns using a self-upgrade tool. While the Smart Shopping self-upgrade tool became available on July, 21 2022, Google announced today that the self-upgrade tool for Local campaigns has become available to eligible advertisers and will continue to roll out in phases throughout August and September. If advertisers do not take advantage of the self-upgrade tool, campaigns will be automatically upgraded in the future.
